Asian American Christian Fellowship

(AACF)

The AACF is an association of campus groups in California and Washington founded and sponsored by the Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society (JEMS) that "strives to reach into the college campus with the powerful life changing message of Jesus Christ....AACF desires to serve Jesus Christ on these campuses to reach the 95% of Asian Americans who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, as this is the last major opportunity to share Jesus as students congregate on college and university campuses and ponder major decisions for their future." See the website to connect with specific campuses in California and Washington.

Abstract: "The main purpose of God’s Fingerprints in Japan is to let people of Japanese ancestry everywhere know that God loves them. Christianity has been in Japan for at least 450 years, yet, only 1.6% of the Japanese people claim to be Christian.  Among Japanese Americans, only 3% have accepted Christ.  Many of those who claim to be Christians feel they have accepted a foreign God and are torn between being Japanese and being a Christian. They see the God of the Bible as a foreign God who prefers Western people and their culture to Japanese people and their culture.  In our experience, this is the largest roadblock to the acceptance of the Gospel among Japanese. This video suggests to the Japanese people that the Creator God is not a foreign God but a Japanese God, and that being a believer in Jesus and being Japanese are not contradictory." Part II addresses the cultural barriers that face Japanese today in deciding to follow Christ.

Kikawa, Daniel. God of Light, God of Darkness: The Chronicles of the Spiritual Battle for Hawaii. [Hawaiian title: Ke Akua o ke Ao, Ke Akua o ka Pō.]

Aloha ke Akua Publishing, 2008. Book, 282p. Purchase here. Kindle edition also available.

Abstract: A true story of the fulfillment of an ancient Hawaiian prophecy on March 14, 1998, witnessed by the author. Kikawa writes, "I have waited seven years to tell this story. It has taken that long to obtain permission from the matriarch of the `Iokane family to write this story; after all, much of this story is their family legacy, the 800-year-old prophecy and the promise of 'The One' that was fulfilled on March 14.1998....I can now continue in the mission to which God called me many years ago. He told me to, 'Tell all people that I (God) have this same story of faithfulness and love for them that I have for Hawaii."

Daniel Kikawa grew up in Hawaii and learned from his Hawaiian family about Hawaiian history and culture. He has also researched Hawaiian history and Cross-Cultural issues for over 30 years. Daniel teaches around the world on Cross-Cultural issues. God of Light, God of Darkness is recommended not only for those who work with native Hawaiians but also for those needing to understand animism.
